As women of the Dawn we are called to an apostolic life, captivated by Christ and devoted to following Him along the path of His death and resurrection. Having been seized by Christ's love, we have left everything behind to live a unified life of joyful and wholehearted service to our brothers and sisters, as expressed in Song of Songs 89.
As part of the Ignatian family, our spirituality is shaped by the 17th-century influences of St. Francis de Sales and the French School. Guided by Ignatian pedagogy, we grow in faith and love.
Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Lyon, inspired by the Trinitarian mystery, are called to proclaim the love of the Holy Trinity to all. Our mission is to foster total union—among people and with God (LEn°29). Anchored in the Eucharist, the “mystery of perfect union” (LE n°28), we are empowered to embrace unity and live it within our communities and with our “dear neighbor.”
With humility, simplicity, cordiality, and respect for others, we seek to build relationships, promote reconciliation, and create bonds of unity wherever we are. Rooted in the diversity of the countries where we serve, we live our mission of communion within the Church and the world.
