Welcome to Nava Jeevan Province, India

Dear Friends,
With immense joy I welcome you to our digital home. I am delighted to invite you to Nava Jeevan Province of the Congregation of the Sisters of St.Joseph of Lyon, an International Congregation founded by Fr.John Peter Medaille in 1650. Nava Jeevan Province is erected on 3 rd July 2017 as a Province.

We have journeyed together in faith and service, deeply committed to our charism of Unity and Reconciliation. This sacred call guides us to be women of the dawn, bringing light to the shadows, mending what is broken and nurturing a spirit of unity wherever we are called.
In these pages, you will discover the many ways our sisters are engaged in ministries that reflect this charism. Whether in education, healthcare, social justice, or pastoral care, we strive to be a living witness to the transformative power of unity and reconciliation, handed down to us by our founders.

We invite you to explore, to be inspired, as we continue to respond to the signs of our time, to enflame a just and compassionate world. Together, we can make a difference, bringing the light of Christ to the darkest corners of our world.

With Blessings

Sr. Sophy Mathew

How We Are Organized

The Congregation of St Joseph was born in Le Puy en Velay, France, in 1650, in response to the situation of war, famine, social injustice etc. It is one of the first female Congregations legally recognized as an apostolic religious congregation, thanks to its founder, Father Jean Pierre MEDAILLE and Monsignor Henri de MAUPAS Bishop of Le Puy en Velay.
